Had a very good workout today. One of those you force yourself to do, to get started, and then pretty soon you're just doing it without over-thinking it. I DO love it when that happens. Always HATED the Nike slogan - Just Do It.... but they were certainly on to something.

Eating is better? Well, maybe not and I keep forgetting to log stuff. Only thing I'm happy about is that most of my food choices are healthy ones. Now... if I could just cut way back on the amounts.

Saw a Dr. Oz where some nutritionist, as an experiment, ate mostly junk food, but limited it to under 1600 calories, I think. He ended losing 27 lbs in two months (damn men!), but still, he did it eating CRAP! Seriously - twinkies, Little Debbie snacks, crap like that. He took a multivitamin, ate green beans and celery, and drank whole mile and a protein shake, but 2/3 of his calories came from Doritos and Little Debbies, etc. AND his cholesterol and all his numbers improved. The speculation? Losing 27 pounds did it, NOT the food he ate. Now, for this to be a good experiment, I would think he would wait 6 months or a year, maintaining his weight where he is now, but by eating a healthy diet, and THEN doing this crappy food for two months to see what happens to his numbers. In a lot of ways, I think the experiment was a bad idea - how many people out there are going to think, hey, it doesn't matter WHAT I eat, as long as it's under a certain number of calories? I'd be quite a few - especially young people.

Oh, AND Klannoye! Who was a former Little Debbie snack queen! If you're reading this... DO NOT GET ANY IDEAS!!! lol... (with love, always with love)

D, great job with the workout!! I am really proud of you...you be the woman!!! I read about that experiment, and my first thought was, there is no way I could stop eating those things once I started! lol I love their Nutty bars....mmmmm, and after eating the first one, could easily devour the whole darned box. Sad but true...:( So no junk food experiments for me! hope you are having the most awesome, fantastic, super duper, over the top weekend! Love ya, D!! <3<3<3<3<3<3

Look at my food intake as it is amazing indeed. I must admit when I eat nutritious foods my energy level is better though. TOWANDA!!!!

I bet the guy in the experiment was always hungry, because junk food does that. My slogan is: it's what you eat, not how much :) I agree about working out and just doing it. The fact is that many of us are not motivated to exercise, so we just have to do it and then we usually feel better after we do :)

In a way they are right... It doesn't matter what you eat as long as your eating less than what you burn. This takes care of the removal of water, glycogen, fat and little muscle but the key here is not that he ate crap but more about the caloric restriction and maybe in that he was eating highly palatable foods? So he actually felt satisfied? Even if he were to eat crappy after the clean eating I doubt that the level of calories he was eating would make a large enough difference... If you take a look at athletes in the off season their diets are much like this guys some days of the week... Ok maybe not as much but none the less a good comparison. Calories and food quality matters and if your eating 80% plus good clean fuel the rest should not matter. Thanks for posting this Redwinelover
