shirfleur 1's Journal, 21 April 2021

(Early morning musings) Looking back over the last year, I have been hovering around the same weight for the last nine months, down a little, up a little, but nothing really happening. I guess I should be pleased that I haven't had any hugh gains, but I really do need to pull myself together and stop wandering in the wilderness. I generally do pretty well during the day, but the demons come out at night, and I yield to temptation so easily. I'm hoping this conversation with myself will have a positive impact; of course, the only person who can decide that is, obviously, me. (😇/👹)

Cheering you on Shir, you got this💪🏽🥗. Close that stomach door at that time you determine and say to yourself when those snacking pangs come around....'Digestion in progress, come back tomorrow!'

Etten, I love your suggestion, I'll try it. Wifey, so true; I'm going to do it. Shred, I love books; the best thing I've reverently was "Caste," life changing. Abba, it worked this morning, I'll have to do it more often. And, or course your support and your successes inspire me always ; thank you! 💛💚💜

Making up your mind is where it's at. It all starts with your decision that you aren't happy with where you are at, and make a "Determination". And then it will take lots of determination and time.

We can be so hard on ourselves, Shir, i get it - but i really think you have been doing really well. the past year has not been easy - covid, you moved (i believe), and various other complications. i'd say you did really well. you know how to do it, and no doubt you will be back to a level of commitment that you are happy with, although I think that level is great now for you. my demons are blister peanuts and beer --- we all have em. i made peace with mine, allow myself both, and just realize it might take a little longer. always appreciate you, shir!

After dinner snacking is beastly. It takes a lot of mental strength to overcome. 😖

I love all the suggestions, and it may also be important to make sure you have enough protein with a little fat at the dinner meal - this may help you have fewer cravings to eat at night. Just a thought, good luck.

Just reread my earlier post, LOL! It was supposed to say, in part was, Shrewd, I love books; the best thing I've read recently was "Caste," life changing.

If there was nothing in the house to snack on at night you might not be inclined to dress, get in the car and drive to the store to buy something. A working strategy. I don’t care how bad I want something , I’m not going out to get it.

I know what you mean. I just went over my weight loss logging from a few years back in order to get a clear picture of how I did it, so I can get out of this non-moving-forward situation I am currently in. Well, I discovered that at my very best, I lost an average of 2.8 pounds a month, with an overall average of 1 lb. a month. That helped me a little bit with my attitude to stick with it. I am still going to make some changes because there's always room for improvement. I completely agree with some of the other comments, you are still doing great and have accomplished really good stuff with improving your health. You can figure it out and reach whatever goal you set for yourself. 👍😊

Shir - I am an early riser ( five) and recently kind of naturally fell into 16:8 eating habit. I wait until eight for breakfast, lunch at noon and dinner at four. I find spacing my meals closer together cuts down on both the hunger snacking and just random snacking since I know a meal is not that far away. If you tend to want to eat in the evening have you tried adjusting your meals during the day so dinner is like eight ? Just a suggestion.
