Well talked to the OBGYN and we are setting a tentative date for sometime in March to do an hysterectomy... we still have to decide what kind we are doing...we are considering taking everything vs leaving the ovaries. I'm looking for opinions of women that have had it done and how happy they are and how successful hormone replacement is 

Well Myree if you don't have any cancer that runs in your family. That would make a differance in your dicision. My sister had all removed only because she had an aunt that died of ovarian cancer. She is my half sister but you'd never know it. Any way she has to take hormone replacement. On the other hand my other 1/2 sister just had the other kind and she doesn't have any problems and does not take any meds. So thats all I can contrbute to you. I still have all my plumbing but thats not to say I wouldn't have it done. Hopes this helps....Bren 

When I was faced with the same decision. I told my doc that if my ovaries are healthy when you open me up feel free to leave them which he did. If there is anything not right, to take them out. I still have them and have no probs. I had my partial hysterectomy because I was bleeding quite badly for years. My poor uterous was packed with fibroids. Funny, being 42, 3 kids later and they were talking therapy to save my uterous. I'm like, what for?? I'm done having babies lol!!! 

Yeah I know this OB is being great! I mean she's considering taking my ovaries even if nothing is wrong with them... she gave me several articles to read through over the next couple of months and decide for myself
