Shiningmoon2165's Journal, 16 January 2009

Well, I just found this site and love it! Looks like a fantastic tool for keeping up with my weight loss and lifestyle change. 4 years ago I lost 30 pounds through Healthy Inspirations but I always felt hungry. This year I wanted to change my overall health habits so I quit smoking last week and started looking on the internet at different diets. My co-worked started to talk to me about weight watchers and I researched it all weekend long last weekend. (I am doing this on my own). I love it! I don't feel like I am on a diet but can already tell I've made some big changes. For meals, I've always done pretty good picking healthy things to eat (unless I didn't) but I would eat really small meals and tons and tons and tons of junk food (candy, cookies, cup cakes etc. it was so bad that we didn't always buy junk food because the rest of my family wouldn't get any... I would eat it all). I would usually eat small dinners and munch on junk food all night.

Being on weight watchers so far has been easy. I really like the fact that I can eat anything I want as long as I stay within my points. So far, I've done really good and I try to stay at the lower end of my range.

My husband, being a chef is also doing this with me and has really gotten into coming up with new recipes that work within our points. Every dinner we've had this week has been awesome!! Even my 13 year old has liked it!! That is a big deal.

Sunday 1/18/2008 will be the start of week 2... I am looking to drop 1-3 pounds a week. So far I've almost lost 2.. woo hoo!

Would you be willing to add any of your recipes to our Recipe Exchange Group? It would be really cool if you could! We are all out looking for new ideas, recipes, etc. to try! Thanks!

Thanks Redone750~ I added some recipes today in my cookbook... to share and also easier for me to track it rather then having to hunt and peck for each thing. Would there be some way for me to add them to the Recipe Exchange Group? I will go ahead and join that group as well.

I would imagine that you could just cut and paste them from yours into the Exchange Group's sections. Let me know if you can't, and we will figure something out. Thanks and I look forward to seeing these yummy recipes!

I too am new to this site..I think it is great. Still getting familiar with things...Low fat recipies from a Chef??!! How awesome is that. THanks for sharing. I agree with you about being able to eat what you want..relatively normal, that is. That is what I love about WW. So far being on WW has shown me that I had NO idea what true portions should be. What a shock!! I thought I was eating too much, but when I saw what appropriate portions are....my oh my!! Sorry to ramble.. Good luck and welcome!!
