nvrquit0383's Journal, 12 October 2008

I'm not even done with week one of my weight watchers diet and it has been quite unsuccessful. I felt deprived all during the week, but managed to stay within the points and felt that I had definately lost weight come Friday. Once the weekend hit, combined with drinking, my diet went completely out the window. I feel like such a failure right now! I know that if I cut the drinking out of my life, I would do so much better, but the weekends usually revolve around bars and that whole social drinking environment kills me. Then I make bad food decisions as well. Although I started on last Monday, I'm going to give it until this Friday to weigh in and then really commit this week to avoid alcohol and make healthy decisions food wise. I am also going to committ this week to working out 3 times for atleast 30 minutes each session. Although I faltered this weekend, I will try to learn from my mistakes and know that tommorrow is a brand new day. I knew this was not going to be an easy change for me, but I owe it to myself to work at being a healthier, happier, more confidant me!

Good outlook! it was one weekend, it wasn't your whole week. you might want to consider weighing in on monday anyways, just so that you can see what an affect bad choices and drinking has on you. That way if you are tempted later, it might help you to control yourself. Also maybe look for lighter alcoholic options and a rule i have read is to have one water for every alcoholic beverage. (it'll slow you down and limit your caloric intake). I did notice your food journal was a little sparse except for the cake. Maybe have some protein with your breakfast rather than that fiber one bar (save that for a snack) and a piece of fruit. Definately protein with lunch, it'll keep you fuller longer. if you're gonna do french onion soup for dinner have a salad with it too. maybe steam some veggies or even microwave them for with lunch and dinner. one rule i read about sweets/desserts was just remember you can always have some tomorrow. That way you won't be tempted to overeat today and you'll not be as likely to have something not so healthy as often. Its always an option, but you don't have to always choose that option. just keep up the good attitude, your habits will change over time as long as you give yourself a chance.
