Note to self: Don't ever, ever, ever, forget to take socks with you when you are going to be walking that day.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays my daughter has softball practice. She is playing fall ball in Enterprise where I work which is a 1/2 hour drive from home. I have been walking the mile long walking trail there at the park and since I don't get home before I go I have to take my change of clothes with me in the morning. Well this morning we where having plumbing issues and I left the house with out my socks and water bottle. Being to lazy to stop at Wal-Mart to buy socks I made the very unwise decision to walk with out them. At the end of my 1/2 walk I had managed to get a huge blister on my left ankle and 3 smaller ones on my right. Off course they had started to bleed which got all over the inside of my new walking shoes. But hey I made my mile. Yeah me.

On another note I am going to have to do something about this depression that I have been feeling creep up on me the last few days. I knew it was here again when I laid in bed last night and started rationalizing all the reasons why I couldn't go to work and why I should stay in bed all day. I was able to force myself out of bed this morning and to work but I did not have a very productive day. Anyway I really hope this is just a temporary slump. It may just be a stage of the grieving process that I am going through. What ever it is I hope it dosen't plan on staying for very long because it is a very unwelcome guest.

When I started I could barely walk a mile. Know I walk every day 2-5 miles. I have walked 6.7 miles at one time. Recently I got home after 3.5 miles and I had a blood blister on my foot about 2"x3". Ouch. I also started getting water blisters. I talked to a friend and she suggested that it was my socks. She said that I should never walk in cotton socks i should look for sock to walk in with no cotton they are made for walking. My problem with that is that my foot is a size 15. So it is hard to find them. I finally found my size at Sports Authority I have had no more problems. A pack of four my size cost me $15.00. But the ladies were like $4.00 for 4. Good luck and stay healthy.

I dont know if you have a regular doctor. But I suffer from cronic depression and I know the key to running off the unwanted guest is to treat is early. Have you thought about joining som sort of support group with others that are going through similar things? I will keep you in my prayers. I know you can beat this!!!! Hugs Denice

I hope your feeling better. I have been feeling blue too...its the time of the year (husbands birthday, our wedding anniversary, our favorite time of year). I had to make myself get up and start walking again and it has helped. The "no sock walking" sounds painful, be sure and take care that you don't get infections. Oh! and please do not try the "walking on hot coals" (giggle**)
