AmyCoulon's Journal, 04 September 2010

I have done it! Yep, I've been gone since my last post saying I'd be back in a few days. But I came to the realization that my free time was very limited. And I could either sit in front on my computer journaling on Fatsecret, OR, I could spend that time working out on my elliptical machine and packing a healthy lunch for the next day. As a full time working mom, I have to prioritize. So I've continued to eat healthy and exercise, but still enjoy life and indulge a little here and there along the way. I stil read nutritional labels and weigh myself daily, but I no longer count calories.

I have learned all the tools I need to maintain a healthy diet, choose healthy snacks, portion control, healthy subsitutions and of course, the importance of regular exercise. So, on that note, I'd like to say a huge thank you to all the buddies who have helped along the way, with encouragement, tips and tricks of the trade. I couldn't have done it without all of you. And I've enjoyed all of our conversations.

I've met my goal weight and I've gone from a size 14 to a size 10. I have way more energy and enthusiasim for life now and my kids and husband love that. Interesting enough, when I had my annual physical, I was of course mentioning very proudly about my healthy weight loss. My nurse practioner had many questions about how I did it, etc, as she is a rather large person herself. Needless to say she was pleased. But here's the kicker, towards the end of the appointment, she said, "You know for someone who is 5'7", you could stand to go down to 140 lbs." Well thanks doc! Way to knock someone down. Unbelievable. I am built with a lot of muscle, so I'm already pretty lean, in fact I love how I look right now. I still have some muscle toning to do, as I'm catching up from 7 years of neglect to this poor body since I started having kids. But at 140 lbs, I think I would look emaciated. I may just see if I can down that low by next yearly appointment, just to show here.

I don't expect that I will be back here on Fatsecret anymore, but I will miss all of you. I do have a Facebook account, but don't even have time to check that. The only thing I do check is my email account. So feel free to stay in touch. It's AmyCoulon@hotmail.com

Again, a sincere thanks to everyone and absolute best wishes in your endeavors to achieving a healthier way of living. Take care. Amy

congratulations!...I've been trucking away as well...trying different things but haven't been good at putting in those meals.. Partly because I end up eating bad or eating home made baked goods and don't know how to input it... KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
