My emotions journal certainly helps me put in black and white what my thought processes are regarding my food intake...

Maybe you should try it: I state the time of day, what my hunger level is [scale of 1-10 w/ 10 being 'starving']// then I explain my mood [in brackets] i.e. stressed, anxious, angry, sad, lonely, etc... even listing the cause of my emotion if I know what it is... and a scale of 1-10 [with 10 being emotional to the MAX!] If there's nothing in particular going on I just put a 5 for neutral// then I put how I felt after I ate [guilty, ashamed, stuffed, pleasantly satisfied [not too full but no longer hungry] This is what I strive for...

Anyway, it's helped me a lot, and I thought it might help you, if you're having problems in that area... and are willing to do some soul searching to find out the driving force behind your food habits...

I've learned more than I ever thought possible!

I got it almost a 4 mile walk yesterday... [not 5 because of time constraints]... I had a Dr.'s appointment @ 1pm and that meant I had to quit working at 10:30 and exercise then wash my hair and shower...] So I had no time to eat lunch, but I still just had my fish, tomato and mixed veggies for dinner... [my favorite go-to meal..]

Got up in the night but did NOT eat anything! Yaaay! [Perhaps I've conquered THAT beast!] I would not even know how to go about 'fixing it' if I had not been keeping my emotions journal [and being totally honest with myself!]

Well, today is HUMPDAY! and I am ever-so-pleased about THAT!

One of my favorites things about MORNINGS
is that it is a chance to START OVER!
It is a NEW DAY
filled with NEW CHANCES
and NEW OPPORTUNITIES!
Let go of yesterday and LIVE FOR TODAY!
You can't change what has happened
nor can you forget it,
just simply move on from it!
Treat today as your YOUR TIME TO SHINE
and keep trying ALL DAY until the sun sets!
Today is YOUR CHANCE to
DO,
BE
and ACT
in a NEW WAY!
Let's get to it!
