I thought this was funny..this was back in 2014. I have nothing against planet fitness, but do find some of their "rules" stupid. https://www.t-nation.com/opinion/planet-fitness-nightmare

I actually went to Planet Fitness over a year ago when I started working out. It was ok. The only problem I had was that the cardio machines were right next to the locker rooms, and it always smelled like someone took a fresh dump. 🤢 Needless to say, I did my cardio separate from the gym. I've moved on from the purple adult daycare, fortunately.

Dang! I love PF and kick ass there! I think the dumbbells go up to 75 which is plenty for me, though Diablo could use more. But there are the cable stations, smith machines- anyone looking to put on some muscle can definitely do so- and plenty of cardio machines for those who are not interested in resistance training. I 💗 everything about it... but not enough to display the bumper sticker. :)

DP, did you ever actually see pizza at yours? Whenever I went, it was always gone.

PF works for me. Like twice I’ve walked in when pizza is being handed out and I turn around and leave. 🍕 I’m sure different locations vary.

Diablo takes an entire pizza sometimes because he goes so late at night and it's left over. You must be at a really busy PF. Never smelled poop there either. I love the massage beds and I haven't tanned though I guess as a privileged "black card" member, I can. Maybe this winter- but I don't want wrinkles (more wrinkles) and be looking old before my time. So yes- definitely have seen the pizza- I'd be more interested if it wasn't plain cheese.

I'm only 1/3 way thru the article and I'm googling for the closest P/F - typo notwithstanding: The did, however, have 33 large-screen TVs, some of which were affixed to the wall in front of water massage beds. They even hosted monthly pizza nights and bagel mornings. Free Tootsie Rolls was available at the front desk.

It's been about eight months or so since I gave up PF and switched to the boxing gym. I totally miss the hydrobed massagers.

I've never stepped foot in one but the one by me always has tons of people which I can't take. People piss me off more and more the older I get lol.

I always have room and Diablo is proof that they are sufficient for muscle building. 💪🏻😍💗🤸🏻♂️ And actually- I think I'm kinda proof that they are sufficient for muscle building. 😉

More than sufficient, really. Sufficient makes it seem like- "Eh- this will do, I guess" when really there is a ton of equipment and an ideal place to work out.

The planet fitness by me is great. They are friendly and no poop smell.

Machines are great. They are just convenient. Stabilizer muscles must not matter too much, lol. But yeah, I've heard of some only having up to 50-pound dumbbells. Ours has the 75s. I can see powerlifters not being fond of it. There are some at ours that make do. They load up the smith machines. At 38 years of age, I am more about safety, working the muscle, and finally after 20 years leaving my ego at the door anyway. Thankfully the machines are hammer strength so they have plenty of weight. Also, I do like that people have to wipe their sweat off of the equipment.

I have one about to open <1 mile from me. It's hard to keep paying the >$20 per month and driving 20 min each way for my current gym. I was going to check out another one 5 minutes away that's like $35 per month. I might check PF out and see if it they have up to 75s. I could also go more than 1-2x per week if it was so close. 50lbers max would suck though. I usually warm up with them little twigs.

Yeah, even 75s are light but I have been going higher rep, ending my workout with them, or drop setting with them after using the smith machine.
