redwinelover's Journal, 15 July 2010

Feeling good today. Just finished a long workout session. Did a couple of the workouts on The Firm - well, as much as I could figure out with the moves and all. Most of it is like old-school aerobics and I never learned those moves. But I worked up a sweat and burned a lot of calories. Then did level 3 of the 30 Day Shred. I hadn't done that one in a while and a person on this board mentioned it to me, so I decided to do that one again. Whew, it's a tough one, too. I'd forgotten. Then did a set of leg/butt/thigh exercises to finish it off. Think it was about 1 hr. 40 min. altogether for a calorie burn of about 650 - 675 calories once I got back to breathing normally again.
I want to go jump in the pool, but I'm sure the pool is at least 90 degrees. I've got the little fountains on while the filter runs overnight, but think I need to put the sprayer things on, too, and maybe it'll cool it down a bit. Can't get refreshed when it's that warm.
Heart rate is still really low. My almost 20 yr old daughter took hers this morning, too, and she's the same way only maybe worse. She had a reading of 39! Her friend's was 60 and my husband's is over 60, so I don't think it's the machine. I think we must naturally have a slow heart rate and I think it's possible she also has a thyroid problem, too. I'm going to take her in for some blood work soon and have them discuss the heart rate thing, see what they think. She's NOT athletic in the least, and she smokes and she's overweight. So it's not as if she should have that low of a heart rate, either.
Postponed my appointment for the consult. Originally it was going to be tomorrow, postponed it until Aug. 16th for a variety of reasons. Want to be closer to goal weight and I should be within 10 lbs or so by then, funding, heat and fear :)

You are doing so fantastic. I would definately get her checked for a thyroid problem, because even though my hr is low, it isn't that low!! And I understand about postponing the consult! I would do the same. Hope your day was awesome!

It sounds like you are doing a great job with the exercise and your chart certainly looks great redwinelover. I'm not too familiar with heart rates so I cannot comment there at all. Thank you for your thoughtful comments on my journal and I hope that you have a great day and a wonderful weekend!

ctlss - what is your heart rate? And is it due to autoimmune disease in your case? And thanks for the kudos. You, too, Info, thanks for your comments, nice to get a boost from the "outside" world! :) Sure hope you're doing okay, too. Things sounded pretty intense.
