argh ! i think it is time to invest in a new scale, when i started the diet it said 200 then a day later i went to the doctors and theirs read 204, i stayed w/ 200. then yesterday it read 191, today when i first stepped on it read 190, then i got on again and it said 193, then 194, then 192! i almost threw it out the window. assuming the doctors scale is right and lets say i do weigh 191 then i have lost a total of 13 lbs compared with just a possible 9 lbs. i need to believe i have lost 13 lbs and that i am not running myself in circles....i am buying a new scale today, ick! i hate scales!

Oh no, yes buy a new scale. Sometimes when starting atkins you may show a slight increase in weight on day 2 or 3 but it starts going down from there - fast. I lost 11 my first week but buy you a good reliable scale. Mine is from wal-mart, it's digital and reads to the .2 .4 .6 .8 etc and it is pretty reliable and cost under $20 I dont remember the brand but it said "the doctors scale"

I had the same problem when I started. I had the old spring type scales and everytime I stepped on it I got a different reading. It was driving me nuts. I finally broke down and bought a digital one. My is actually a weight watchers and I got it at Walmart. It was around $30.00 I like it because it will save your numbers and it has the ability to save up to 4 people. That way I have my info and my husband can save his too if he wants. It also measures BMI, hydration, bone mass, fat weight...I don't remember everything. It is pretty cool. I've been happy with it.

My digital scale varied by how I was standing on it. I found that using my wii-fit to weigh is the most consistent way...It forces you to stand the same every time. More expensive if you don't already have it..but really reliable and FUN.
