Well...time to get even more serious. I'm going to try to stay under 1300 calories and burn 2550. if the math is working correctly, that would be 2.5 lbs per week. that would thrill me :) Okay, just did the cardio part of the workout - level 1 & 2 cardio max. taking short break and then do another dvd. it's on now....

...later that day
Okay, I took a break after the cardio and played in the pool a bit. Mostly standing, to be honest, maybe a couple of laps and shot a few baskets. So no real exercise, just cooling off. Then I came in and actually did part 2 of my workout!! I'm thrilled with myself :D Same workout as day before yesterday's - the Boost Metabolism Burn Fat one. So a good 700 calories between the two sets. Now...I just have to watch what I eat today. Better plan ahead for dinner since I was making bison burgers again. I'll use one of those multi-grain sandwich thins for the bun...that saves some calories there. I'll slice tomato and have lettuce and maybe some jalepenos on it, onion if I have any...getting hungry thinking about it. Think I'll add it to my food diary now so I can see if I have room for any other food today. I love it when I'm motivated and DO MY WORKOUT. I hope the scale moves down in a day or two.

Geez, I have a damn library of 'em now! : ) But that's okay, gives me a chance to switch things around (although I have a couple of favorites)

Had sorted out two DVDs that looked promising (Pilates for Dummies and Aerobics for Dummies) and "The Last Waltz" (blast from the past: saw the original movie of The Band's break-up concert twice when it originally came out) from the 3-for-cheaper-than-2-and-loads-cheaper-than-1 bin. That was until I saw the sticker on all three: "These are imports and may not play on your DVD player". Dam-nit: had to put them all back until I can check. Not too bothered about the exercises (can probably do better elsewhere) but I would like The Last Waltz for nostalgia. ______________ How big / deep is your pool? Can you do aqua-aerobics in it? The public one I go to has a dedicated lane for aqua joggers and there's always several - usually ladies - working their way up and down. It's supposed to be very good for you: good cardio, no impact. ____________________ Well done on the second work-out, and staying motivated. Love the sound of bison burgers: I assume bison is a very lean meat, a bit like venison? Never seen bison here, but we get a lot of venison and I think kangaroo - from Australia - is available. Jalepenos, yum. And you might just have enough calories left over for a good dollop of mayonnaise :-) (just kidding: stay with it, you're doing amazingly well.)

Never tried bison but it sounded good.

Bison isn't necessarily low in fat, but it's lower in saturated fats and it's grass-fed, so much, much healthier for you. And no hormones, no pesticides on their feed, etc. Too bad it's not available where you are, Ruby, but for Andrea - I suggest you try it! It was delicious. I bought patties already formed at Costco, but they also carry it at Sprouts and probably other farmer's market type places. I put salt and pepper, a tiny bit of granulated garlic, some worchesteshire sauce, a dash of tabasco or other hot sauce, and some onion in it. If you try it, don't overmix it so it doesn't get tough. Get a really hot grill or use cast iron (I LOVE my cast iron pans!) and make it hot, and spray a bit of olive oil on the surface of the burger. Cook for 3 or 4 min. each side and let rest (like a steak) for a few minutes. I didn't put jalepenos on it, just low fat mayo, sweet hot mustard, lettuce, tomato and a bit of barbeque sauce. It was AMAZING!
