I read somewhere that gall stones seem to have an increased occurrence in people who have lost weight. Never understood why.

normally the gallbladder contracts in response to fat but when fat is restricted (as in we are dieting) the gallbladder can stop emptying it self and this cholesterol build up and increase the risk of gall stones forming
