Wow, I knew what hcg was but didn't know there was a diet that you inject yourself with it. Seems odd, and the first thing I came across was this
https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/weight-loss/expert-answers/hcg-diet/faq-20058164

And 500-800 calories? I eat that blinking once. To teach their own but this sounds very dangerous...

Actually it is fine. I did it several times. I don't know if the HCG actually did anything, but in TRYING to follow their diet, I cut my 2500+ calories a day to about 800 calories and-of-course-I-lost-weight. I would gain it back, but I would rather go 'up and down' rather than 'constantly up'. - - Dude, on any given day, I would 'demolish' a 'sleeve' of crackers I less than 2 minutes and thin nothing of it! That's 500 calories and I would STILL be hungry. So, yes I know the thought of only consuming 500 calories for-an-entire-day seems utterly impossible... :)

Damn I would hurting.. I did 1200 a few times just protein basically and that wasn't very fun. Lots of chicken 😔

But it didn't work in the long run?

I would lose 8-10lbs in the 6 week 'program'. I would have lost more but I WOULD CHEAT LIKE CRAZY! :) :) I cannot reduce my calories that much without reducing my carbs. If I have breakfast I-cannot-fast that day. Tried it, it is totally impossible for me. I would break into a store and run out the back door with a muffin if I had no money but had eaten that day :) - - This week I am drinking 900 calories a day of protein in heavy cream. This is virtually 'effortless'. I'm about to head out for a 5 mile run before work :)

Ya, I've never done it because it seems fairly stupid. the massive calorie restriction required alone is enough to lose weight. nice money for the doctor 💰

Sounds really boring ;)

Honestly I'm not a huge fan of all these different fad diets, and they just keep getting worse and more extreme, such as this one. I've tried probably just about every fad diet: keto, paleo, vegan, low carb, OMAD and I am happy to know that they work for some people, I just never had the luck or willpower for them. There is one I know of called the "sleeping beauty" diet and it encourages you to sleep alot so you're not awake to eat anything....uh....no

That sleeping beauty diet sounds interesting! Reckon it would smooth out 76 years of wrinkles?

Lookin back I don't regret doing the diet (I DO regret the cost!). I needed 'baby steps' to change. All diets work, the only question is 'what can you do long term? For me, I can 1) Live on 1000 calories (I have a slow metabolism) 2) Not eat breakfast and lunch most days - -

I guess I do the sleeping beauty one a day here and there.. When I switch back to 3rd shift after being off for a few days 😜 then I can do a double day or have a good deficit 😎

Seems courageous to me, to have the courage to say “fuck my health” you have to have some big 🏐⚽️ for that 😱

For someone like me, 500 calories for 10 weeks is not going to kill me. I am only 5 foot 3, and my recommended daily intake is 900 calories if I am not exercising, so it's not too far off to do 500 to 800 for a short time. Most people on a diet have spare fat that they can stand to burn for a while. HCG has been shown to be irrelevant to the actual weight loss though.

Abbadabba, your recommended daily intake is 900 calories?! That seems so low. I've never seen a recommendation that low before.

My caloric intake is about 2000 calories a day. You seem to be in good shape, so working out and burning up 200-300 calories per day leaves only 200-300 calories less to eat.

Read "Pounds and Inches" by Dr Simeons, he developed the diet in 1950s Italy.

HCG Diet...I did it few years ago, few times. It works the first time - as every diet. After that it's hard to stick to the plan. HCG actually helped me not to feel hungry, of course the losing weight is thanks to the low calories intake. I've been fasting to only water for up to 30 days so 500 calories per day is like a feast fro me, but 500 calories per day can be too much when you're trying to reach a good ketosis, that's the problem of the diet. Slows your metabolism to 500, so you can survive ma going back to a normal daily intake takes more effort than the diet itself, such an effort that basically no one is capable of taking. Fasting is way much easier for me....just forget about food for a while!! ;)

The main thing the HCG did for me was make me not cheat so much. Every time I would cheat I would think "I'm paying $600 and cheating? This makes no sense" :)

I am going to invent "the straight board diet". For $500/week, we will strap you to a straight board and deny access to all food and just feed you small amounts of food and water. Sad thing is, if I put it up on YouTube with a semi-credible looking website link, someone would want to try it.

starving yourself and injecting with pregnancy hormones? idk seems a bit fucking crazy to me. HCG is found in pregnancy and tumors. yes, lets use that for weight loss.

Hormones are very powerful! Want to make a person fat, inject them with insulin (a hormone). Want to sleep, have some Melatonin. Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is just another homone of many...
