The attached picture is of pine cones from the Ranch. The 2 bigger ones are just regular trees., the 2 smaller ones are the cones from the Giant Sequoia. Those little cones produce the trees that are 350 feet tall and live more than 1500 years.. those little cones are so dense that I doubt that you could break them with a hammer. They only open and release their seeds in the presence of fire.- then they pop, just like popcorn. Big controversy here in California about man v nature. These trees cannot reproduce without fire.
