Today wasn't terrible but I did go to Olive Garden w/my kids today. I could probably lose this weight a bit easier but having the kids around means meeting their needs. Well, I'll see what the scale says tomorrow.

If I were you I would try and revamp your kids' diet as well. If eating a high carb diet is bad for you it is also bad for them. Kids need carbs because they are growing, but you can make sure that those carbs come from veggies, fruits, and some whole grains rather than a bunch of highly processed junk. I've taught my 11 yr old daughter the importance of reading food lables and paying attention to serving sizes. Yes, she has the occasional bit of candy or french fries but these types of items are not staples in her diet. Initially she wasn't that crazy about the changes in her diet but now she likes what I make. More importantly she is learning to make good food choices on her own.

I guess I've taken the same approach with my son but in a different way. He knows about carbs and fats but I decided that he can only eat what I bring home. So I eased my family into eating low carb without them knowing. There are great recipes on out there and many you can make child friendly. We do wonders with low carb tortilla from meals to desserts. However, I allow my son to eat from his favorite restaurant once or twice a month so that he doesn't feel deprived and he usually eats less than he used to.
