Damn. I so wish I hadn't just pigged out so much yesterday. Wouldn't have been so bad if I'd have just worked out, too. Or really, if I'd just had that Subway sandwich I wanted or the big burrito at some local restaurant. But no, I just kept eating stuff, trying to fill the void. I really think I was genuinely hungry, though, although the eating was out of control. Sometimes I think I should just have the thing I'm most craving in order to stop the random eating of everything else. Ever happen to anyone else this way?

yes, this happens to me. Sometimes I have a day where my stomache feels like a bottomless pit! My rule is, if my stomach doesn't hurt after the meal, it was probably real hunger. Just enjoy your food slowly and chew really well. That should help stop overeating (if it's not emotional eating, that is. The only cure I've found for that is therapy, which I go to weekly). And I agree, eat a serving of the food you are most craving can stop me from eating large amounts of other things. Great workout!

Your diet didn't look TOO bad, seeing as it was coming off that major hike the day before? I know what you mean though, substituting other stuff for the one thing you crave: some days you just have to give in, and try to minimise the damage. Have a 6" Sub', not the foot long?

Thanks both of you...yeah, it was a bottomless pit. Maybe a good sign that I never got to the hurt? Probably most of us with a weight issue have some kind of emotional overeating thing, though, wouldn't you think? I would think if we actually only ate when hungry and stopped when we were no longer hungry (not when full), then we'd all be at our perfect weight? Maybe not...just seems that would be the case. Interesting to hear I'm not the only one that feels maybe we should eat a serving of the food we want most : ) Hooray! I'm normal : ) Both of you seem to think that's true...wonder if we should make it a post and get others' take on it? A 6" sub would have hit the spot. Or that burrito...oh well. Live and learn, right? I'm feeling normal today - normal energy level, normal appetite. So maybe it was from coming off that super long hike. I really appreciate the input : )

Ah D- it happens to me all the time too, and I feel the same way - just satisfy the craving and you'll be fine! Well, I try not to do that too much or I'll go back to my eating habits and polish off this entire chocolate cake tonight! BUT it is a nice treat -and when you are so hungry like you were, I have to agree I think it's genuine hunger, esp. because of all your activity the day before. No worries! Remember you told me - you can choose to get back on track any time, there is no excuse for that! I'm trying hard to get back into it today but I felt like a total bum not going into campus or anything. I'm going to try to be REALLY productive tomorrow - and I'm still planning on making myself workout tonight, bah! I think I may have strained my hamstrings with the More Active workout I did cause I went at it hardcore, but - no pain no gain right?! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Talk to you soon hun! Keep up the good work and don't worry about one day!

Oh - and can I say - that I think if you and I were closer, we'd do awesome dieting together, I look at the food you eat and it's very similar to a lot of stuff I eat (but you're so much better about eating non-packaged stuff). Haha, just kinda funny but I wanted to comment after looking at your calendar. PLUS! You only ate 1400 calories on the day of that huge hike - no WONDER you were hungry, I don't think you went that off-track at all.

mmm....cake : ) I'm so craving something like cake. And that's just a craving, not genuine hunger! lol Yeah, I thought about what I told you the other day. Sure is easy to GIVE advice : ) Okay, so yeah, I think it was truly hunger from the day before. But I gotta admit - I don't remember what we ate for dinner! I didn't cook anything, but must have had some cereal or something. I remember not wanting to move from the sofa, but I'm sure I did long enough to eat something. So I can probably add 400 or 500 calories to that day. -------------------------confession time over (no, I'm not Catholic : ) I think we'd make good diet buddies, too. Like the same food, don't mind doing the work we have to do to become the hotties on the outside we are on the inside, and close to the same weight. I still feel like I'll never catch up with you, though! If I manage to drop a pound, you've lost two or three! Youth...you have youth on your side : ) I'm half joking, but maybe you can learn from all of my mistakes. That's one of my regrets - that I've let something silly like WEIGHT/FAT control so much of my time and energy and attention for all these years. Ridiculous! Rant over. I feel better : ) I'm glad you're my buddy, SQ.

Aww *virutal hugs* haha, I'm glad we're buddies too!! :D And you will catch up to me - because 1) it's not a race! More like... a nice long stroll :) and 2) because you're working SUPER hard, it's just a matter of time before you're dropping pounds left and right and I'm the one that's gonna play "catch-up", haha :)
