I still dream of the ''tarte tatin aux endives et oignons caramélisés''. Wouldn't it be so nice to eat gorgeous food like that everyday. But at the end of a 12 hres work day, when my husband asks me what I want to have for dinner, suddenly, ''tarte tatin aux endives et oignons caramelisées'' doesn't sound like a practical choice.
I am glad to feel that smaller portions make me feel full. I actually leave some bits and pieces of food instead of getting seconds. And I'm glad I'm not starving myself and loosing weight. I had a long week this week and usually I would skip lunch to get home earlier. What a stupid thing. I took some almonds all week and munched on them and stop for 15 minutes and enjoyed a georgeous salad every day at lunchtime. And lentils, beans, tuna etc... I even talked to the nutritionist where I work, who's very pro-active in promoting good food. It's scandalous what they can serve in some hospital. The one I work in has a fabulous head nutritionist. She's fighting to get some more money and getting some healthier food. She's trying to ban french fries, and just that is a huge struggle.
So I'm happy I found this site and read more about nutrition and metabolism etc.. It's working for me and I feel better.

I was surfing this site and found your entry. Hi!! I lived in France for 2 years, and I can tell you that it still amazes me how French women can stay slim. However, they don't ALL manage it, as my neighbor (and dear friend) there is over 200 lbs, and struggles the same as me. She is also a doctor--OB/Gyn. Stress definitely is a culprit for many women. But, hey, if I could talk myself into jogging off stress, I'd be a skinny girl again!! You're doing great!

Food is like art! I love to cook it. I love to serve it & I love to watch people eat good food. OK, I love to eat it also! lol... My nephew is a chef. He worked for Wolfgang Puck for a few years & now is an executive chef for a smaller specialty restaurant near San Francisco. He is away right now. The owners sent the general manager & my nephew to Europe for 3 weeks to experience food!!!! To London, Belgium, Paris & the countryside of France. Just to eat!!! What a job! I would have been a good model for the artists that liked doing portraits of the voluptuous women! I have that hands down!!!

Indeed, food is art. I think we have to enjoy it like art.
