Hello everyone!! Just stopping in for a minute. I am in Sacramento, getting ready to hang out with my friend for the night. I will only be here until Monday afternoon-- helping with orientation of a new crew for a new store.

Whew, was I busy yesterday!! Some of you know that I work for a pizza company... Halloween happens to be one of our busiest days of the year. We normally open at 11 but don't really get busy until 4, then for only a couple of hours.... Yesterday, we opened at 9:30 and were fairly busy at first, then from about 1 on, we didn't stop!! On a normal Friday, we sell about 250 pizzas. Yesterday, the store I was at sold over 600!! Whew!!! It was crazy, but good.

I did get home at about 7:30 and did some trick or treating with my son... he was the only one that went out this year with us. My youngest daughter went with a friend, my second oldest hung out at a friends house, and my oldest went to a club after working a 12 hour shift (at one of my stores-- so she was fairly busy, too!)

Decided I should update my weight after I noticed that I hadn't done it in like 25 days. Staying pretty much steady, within a couple of pounds. I'm okay with where I'm at, but will eventually need to drop a few more, I think. Just not where my focus is right now.

Okay.... want to get headed out to my friends' house. I'll check on again while I'm here-- have more time when I don't have to give my family attention :) Hope everyone is doing well!

Hey everyone...

Wow-- life is sure keeping me busy lately! Not a lot of extra time on my hands which is why I'm not on here as much....

Worked last night on cleaning the carpets at the old house so that we can get the keys turned in and be done with it! Brought the cleaner home and cleaned the couch we got off craigslist for our new family room. I was surprised to see how dirty the water was from that! The couch is a blue color, so doesn't show much dirt, but the water told the story :)

Got some bad news from my oldest this morning.... The full time job she's had for the last six months let her go this morning 'due to the economy'.... She is very upset, understandably. She lives on her own with a roommate. Their lease is almost up on their apartment, so they have been looking at moving into a different place, which, of course, takes money. Luckily, she just started a part time job as well, so she won't be completely without income, but definitely not what she was used to. It makes me so sad to see her going through this. She is such a good kid. I guess sh** happens in life, even to the best of us, huh?

I also had something interesting happen in my new job.... instead of having 7 stores to oversee, I now have only 3 (as of November 4). Four of my stores were sold! I was really surprised at first and a little upset as I was looking forward to the challenge of running the 7 of them and improving them, but now I'm looking at it as this will give me the opportunity to really focus just on the 3 and get them in tip top shape... Still loving my job :)

We've been in the new house for about 3 weeks now. We're all getting settled. Got a message from one of my son's teachers last week, though, saying that he is not being responsible and personally accountable. Had a talk with her and explained that he was the only one of the kids who was not looking forward to this move and that he is probably rebelling somewhat, but I think that with her help and the involvement of both my hubby and I, he will come around. This is also his first year of middle school, changing classes, higher expectations, etc. It all takes some adjusting.

Haven't got back into a workout routine, but am doing better on the nutrition side. Trying to eat smaller amounts more often and staying within points range. Not seeing huge improvement in weight, but not seeing it go up, either :)

Well, off to do some more UNpacking. Just wanted to stop in and say hi. I'm going to visit some journals and see what's going on....

Miss ya all! Talk again soon....

Good Morning FS Buddies!!

I went to my WW official weigh in yesterday and was amazed that I was actually still within my goal range- and actually down a 1/2 pound from my last weigh in last month! I have not been great about following plan, but I guess I'm not doing too bad... at least I'm maintaining. I have been doing better with my food choices lately, and after the move is done, I really plan to put a lot of focus on the exercise.

Cheeks reminded me of something in response to my journal from Monday night.... I have 2 girls in my home who are becoming women (14 and 16) along with myself... I guess it's no wonder we are butting heads lately. I am just going to keep working on fighting the fights that are worth it, standing firm when I know I should, while still allowing them to grow and mature so that they are able to be competent, confident adults when the time comes. As I've said before, my oldest has already graduated and moved out, all well before her 18th birthday (which is coming up on November 28th!!) which I'm pretty proud of-- she has not chosen to go to any further school as of yet, but she is working full time and taking care of herself without asking for handouts. I went through a lot of the same stuff with her, so that's what I'm holding onto with the other two. I think that as long as my husband and I stay on the same page and support each other (which has never been an issue in our relationship), the next few years with them will be fine....

This is the end of my first week in my new position. This will be my first glimpse at whether or not I am being successful... Gotta hit the grindstone so that I continue making a good impression.

Have a SUPER FANTASTIC day FS buddies!!!

Okay... kid difficulties today. Geeze, I sure wish there was some kind of manual for them!! I get into it multiple times a day right now with at least one of them... Let's see...

Today, I have argued with one about going grocery shopping. I didn't feel like going today, but she didn't like that. Since there is nothing for her to just grab to eat, there's nothing to eat, so I should have gotten up and gone right when she wanted me to.

I argued with the other one about buying her perfume. Again, did not want to go to the mall....

Just got through arguing about taking my almost 16 year old out of school. She thinks that since there is only a 1/2 day on Wednesday and no school on Friday and we are moving this weekend, I should just go ahead and unenroll her tomorrow and let her stay home all week until she starts at the new school. She is in AP (advanced placement) classes right now that she doesn't want to continue with at the new school, plus she didn't do some of her homework over the weekend, so.... I really want her to continue with her classes as they can count toward college credit. She is just so stubborn. As I was telling her that she definitely IS going to school tomorrow, she said things like "Your reasoning doesn't make any sense" and said that she is going to call her dad in the morning-- to which I said "Go ahead.. he will say you're going to school, too!!"

You know, I didn't have the greatest life growing up, so I have always tried to be a better parent to my children, but I sometimes feel that all I have succeeded in doing is raising some very unappreciative, expectant children. I sure hope that's not the case in the long run.....
