For those who ask "what is this Atkins Fat Fast?"

It is about 1-2 pages in the Atkins book, somewhere towards the middle(?) (my dad has my book so I had to do a gooogle search to refresh my memory), where Atkins addresses diet stalls and plateaus that last greater than 4 weeks. He doesn't call it a plateau until after 4 weeks. He also talks about resistant metabolisms, where you just can not get into ketosis, needing a jump start. Anyway, the basic premise is you limit yourself to about 1000 cal per day, most of those cal in fat cal, eat 4-5 meals of 200-250 cal meals, and follow this plan only for 3-4 days.

I found an internet site that has mapped out some of those 200-250 cal meal choices, nothing super exciting but definetly limited in cal, made some choices I thought I could live with and gave it try, I LOST 7 LBS IN 1 WEEK, the HARD way. Lori mentioned "mind over matter," still I felt hungry alot of the time, watching the clock for the next snack, even though I have had a bad habit of skipping meals in the past, but at least most of the mini meals were tasty, (except those weiners!) The nuts helped alot.

Here's what my plan looked like: I had 2 sausage patties and coffee w/ extra cream about 7am, 1+ oz nuts at 1030, 1 nuked weiner w/ mayo at 1pm, one string cheese about 5pm, then a hamburger pattie w/ cheese, or small steak, or chicken breast about 8pm, one night I even ate those nasty weiners again :) I do have to say that when my mind was saying I was hungry, I drank some more coffee w/ extra cream. Choices that I didn't use were one deviled egg w/ extra mayo, cream cheese w/ pork rinds, peanut butter stuffed celery or cream cheese stuffed celery---limit of 7 inches on the celery.

My conclusion: yes my diet stall ended, I lost a good bit of weight in one week, and if I have another diet stall I will try this again, but I won't say it was easy. ~Debra

I am HAPPY. I am GOOD! I am doing the HAPPY, HAPPY JOY, JOY DANCE all day long!!!!!! I did the Atkins Fat Fast M-TH(F), today will the last day, to jump start the most recent diet stall. That plan is not easy but it is certainly worth the time and effort: I have already lost 6 lbs and have one more day before the challenge is over. I won't be surprised if a couple lbs come back when I go back to regular Atkins, BUT I GOT THOSE @#*#@ SCALES TO MOVE!!! Next week I am out of state for training, so I will be challenged multiple times a day whether to stick with the diet or go with the flow and eating out every meal. Today I feel soooo good that sticking to Atkins while eating out all week sounds easy. Well, I will worry about next week later. Yeah, I TOLD those scales, I am going to lose the weight, and they will have to adjust and get ready to keep on moving. Nasty Old Scales.... LOL, HAPPY DANCE, LOL

Day 3 of the Fat Fast: I survived another day. I probably got more than 250 cal last night. I was soooo hungry and the steak my hubby cooked was soooo good, I ate the whole thing! At least it was an allowable food just more than portion control auditors would approve. I think come Friday I WILL see the scales move. I am waiting so I can get the full effect of the results.

I gonna crow a little, I bought my hubby's B-day present yesterday, his favorite SF hand dipped chocolates, and I didn't get one for me, I turned down his offer to share, I didn't dream of chocolate! I found Super-Woman strength and resisted the whole candy counter full of hand made chocolate truffles! I may have to have headache today............

I have promised myself that if I can lose 40 lbs by my July 7 B-day, I will treat my chocolate addiction to ONE double chocolate, triple dipped truffle. That be over 6 months w/o the most wonderfully, toe curling, taste in the world. :)
