Painting and putting together a LONG wooden picket fence sure counts as exercise! No idea how many times I have stooped over to dip my brush in the paint can, or to pick up the drill and screws to screw on another picket. I am actually enjoying doing it. I am proud of the fact that, other than my daughter helping me screw in most of the rails the pickets attach to (they are 8' long 2 X4s), and I can't hold up both ends while screwing them to the posts, having a handyman dig the post holes, and my daughter and a friend helping me attach one of the two gates, I have done every bit of it myself. I started it last Nov. I have two 8' sections and the second gate to make and put up, yet, and then my dream of a place in the country with a white picket fence will finally be realized this month at age 74!! Wish I could add a photo.
