Getting back on the Atkins wagon today. My goal is to lose these 30lbs by fair week. That gives me about nine months. There is no reason I can't succeed. Starting Induction phase today, will be on Induction for at least two weeks, until January 25. Will re-assess when I get there. I know Atkins works, and it works quick. I had a pretty good success the first time around, but gave it up after developing a rash. I think that rash was from the Flaxseed. No flax this time around!

Today is the 2nd day of my new eating lifestyle. Tonight I'm making grilled burgers, and roasted ranch potatoes for dinner. Usually I make fries (home cut, but still deep fried) with burgers. Last night for my evening snack/dessert, I had an apple w/ some peanut butter & 10 almonds. Better than the usual bowl of ice cream. :) I am making a conscious effort to eat more fruits & veggies for snacks, and with meals. My 1st goal will be to get at least 5 servings of fruits & veggies a day. I've already had 1! Have 2 for lunch, 1 for a snack, and then 1 with dinner. Not counting the onion & lettuce on my burger. Have been thinking about going all "real food" in the house. I don't think my DH is going to give up his junk though. I can control what the little one eats though. Taking him to the farmer's market Sat to pick up fresh local fruits & veggies. He likes that sort of thing.

After 2.5 weeks on the HCG diet, I have quit. I find myself feeling incredibly deprived, and wanting to eat everything in my cabinets. Usually I end up bingeing on crap while cooking dinner. I don't do this when I'm not on a radically restrictive diet. When I allow myself to eat what I want, I don't tend to gorge on junk or want it near as bad. Starting today, I'm going to allow myself to eat what I want, when I'm hungry. I'm going to make a conscious effort to not eat when I'm bored/stressed/mad, stop when I'm full, and eat more fresh fruits & veggies. So far today, I've had a Nature Valley Crunchy Peanut butter bar & a banana. I brought yogurt instead of the bar, but it was pretty runny & didn't look too safe. :/ I've got a baked chicken breast, strawberries & cucumber for lunch, and a pot roast, steamed broccoli & sweet corn on tap for dinner tonight. I've not hit 1000 calories yet, and have also included my snack for today. I did lose just about 2lbs in my time on HCG. I'm sure it could have been more, but I couldn't do it any longer. I was actually mad at my husband for eating the dinner I made for him & our son, while I had a small chicken breast, some cucumber & an apple. It was not a good thing. I did lose about 14 overall inches, most from my chest & stomach, which is great, but also where I tend to lose 1st anytime I try to lose. I'm just going to make a conscious decision to eat better overall, and no more restrictive "fad" diets. They might work, but they drive you nuts & make me binge when I normally wouldn't.
