I appreciate the comment I received about using weekends to proportion out my snacks. That was a great idea. As a matter of fact, now I'm trying to pre-cook some foods for the following week so that it is fast and easy to prepare a meal. I have been able to prepare about 3-4 days worth of food in advance so that I only have to cook twice a week. That keeps me from going to fast food restaurants or grabbing junk food (my husband is a snacker) as soon as I get home.
