Hello All - I've been off site for a while; (for a year to be exact). I have been off my food plan more often than on. I have increased my exercise and activity and that has slightly changed my body composition. I've got a little more definition and lost a few inches, I have realized that I need to get my diet back on track. So here I am to keep myself accountable again. Restarting my journey to being a healthier me :)

I've been too busy to log in the last 2 weeks. I've been keeping to my food plan pretty well. On June1st, l made a food lifestyle change. I won't call it a diet since I plan to eat this way forever. I've taken the approach of a few authors & put them together as a plan that can work for me. I read books by Dr, Joel Furhman (plant based), Kris Karr (plant based) and Tosca Reno (clean eating). All 3 promote a plant based food lifestyle w/no processed food and no sugar. If you must use a processed product, use something that is minimally processed with as few ingredients as possible. Furhman & Karr also eliminate meat/dairy. Reno is ok with them if they are organic/free range or grass fed. Furhman also takes away butter & oils out but I don't think I can give up butter completely. So, my version... Stick to Furhaman and Karr as closely as I can. Have a small piece of poultry, fish of seafood if I want it & don't beat myself up about it. I've eaten mainly veggies, beans & brown rice the last 2wks. I have had shrimp and turkey a few times. I did eat a few reese's mini cups last week out of the candy jar at work but I only had 1pc each time I took from the jar. I am going to work very hard to eliminate the processed foods & sugars out of my life because in just the last 2wks, my complexion is looking clearer & I have been sleeping better. I started back to the gym. 2 days w/ a trainer & I will add two days on my own. Kris Karr says 'if you mess up get back on track with the next meal. Don't wait till the next day'. I can live with that! Healthier ME, Here I Come!!!
