I've been on Fatsecret for years, but this is (perhaps) my first journal entry. I am a 5'10, 36 year-old man. My heaviest ever was 350 in January 2013, and I lost 45 pounds by October 2013. I've kept all that weight off, but I've been steady between 300-310 for about 18 months.
I had knee replacement surgery last week (finally!!). I kept saying that I'd lose lots of weight before the surgery, but I never did. Well, now's the time. I'm going to try now. I want to lose AT LEAST 30 pounds by the end of the year.
Let's go!
I'm basically doing McDougall's Starch Solution. But I might have some meat or dairy when I'm weak. But I'll try to stick to it as much as I can.
You're not supposed to necessarily track your food intake on this plan, or count calories, carbs, or anything, so long as you stick to the allowed foods, and stay away from the forbidden ones. (Interested? Google "Starch Solution." Better yet, read the book. Anyway, I'm going to track my food intake for a few days just to see how I'm doing and keep myself honest.
