Week one, my review
I would second what the previous posters said, with the additional caveats of (a) not checking your scale every day; (b) focusing more on how your clothes are fitting than on the number on the scale; and (c) allowing yourself a little dark chocolate on occasion! Smile Don't completely deprive yourself of everything you love.
I am in my fifties and just broke my foot, after FINALLY getting on board with a consistent in-home workout that I loved (Focus T25 - and I am NOT a rep). I am so disappointed to be derailed like this! Fortunately there was a lot of work on one foot in the exercise program, requiring me to get 'in shape' with balance as well. That has helped me a lot since this unfortunate occurrence! I'm also in retail with a lot of lifting involved, so I would at least like to think that I am starting out a bit ahead of many others in terms of fitness goals. This seems to be the case with you as well.
Anyway, I digress. I think, and agree with other people who say, that it takes longer to lose weight as we age. If I were you, I would also consider that the calorie goal you set for yourself might be TOO low and causing your body to go into starvation mode. You might actually lose weight more quickly if you increased that intake by 200-300cal/day, as counterintuitive as it might sound. May I ask who recommended the 1300/day to you, or was that a number you set for yourself? In the meantime, congrats on the loss so far!!
