Okay, here we go - restarting my diet from my ACTUAL weight of 76kg!
My goal is 63kg, and I intend to focus on regular exercise, as well as replacing unhealthy snacks and comfort food with water and tea, fruit and veg.
I want to lose this weight to ensure a healthy bmi, restore my self confidence and improve my asthma.
Weigh-in:
167.6 lb
lost so far:

still to go:
28.7 lb

Well, what looks like a ridiculous amount of weight loss so soon may well be due to the fact that I was on my period when I first weighed in, which tends to add weight.
But I do think I may have lost a pound over the last few days...
Anyway, an encouragement to keep going, even if it's a bit of a false start! :)

First proper day of the diet.
Yesterday I found out I have a bmi of 29.9, just 0.1 off the obesity classification. I knew I was overweight but that came as a shock and wake up call to me. This weight loss isn't about vanity now, I have real motivation get myself fitter, reduce health risks, and hopefully improve my asthma along the way.
I'm doing well today so far, but am fighting against temptation. My mind tells me that food will make me happy and satisfied, but I know that after a binge I always feel worse than I did in the first place.
My aim is to make sure I focus much more heavily on fluids, fruits and vegetables in my diet. Instead of drastically reducing the amount I eat - therefore forcing my body into starvation mode - I intend to replace the high fat, high salt and sugar snacks I continually eat between meals with these three. I'm using this method to train myself into a healthy, realistic lifestyle to continue after I've reached my goal weight.
In order for me to reach a bmi comfortably within the 'normal' classification, I will need to lose 19kg, taking me to 9st. My aim is to try to lose around 2-3 lb/week - enough to mean that I avoid cheating my diet, but not so much that it feels like an impossible challenge. If I keep up to my weekly target, I should be at my goal weight in around 5 months.
Here we go!
