I am 51 years old and my husband went to a shopping outlet in Nashville last April. We walked at a slow steady pace, but when i got back to the beginning, I was close to having an Asthma attack, I was sweating like a pig, my heart was pounding out of my chest, and thought....This is it. If i don't lose weight now, I'm going to be dead in 5 years. So, after we got home from vacation, i started this new way of eating. The first week i lost 11 lbs! What a great encouragement to keep going. It hasn't been all peaches and cream (pun intended)lol...but i have stuck with it this time. My goal weight is 150lbs (I started at 272lbs <shudder>), but my MAIN goal is...My grandson is 6 yrs old now. When he graduates from high school, i want to be able to ask him...Nate, do you remember when grandmama was fat? And to have him be able to truthfully answer...Just barely, grandmama. That is my goal.

Hello, Not exactly new
I am not knocking you for your coke habit. I have a Sunkist Diet Orange Soda habit. And like you, i know i would be much healthier if i gave it up. But Damn it!!! I like it, and i am going to keep drinking it until i decide i want to quit. You know that coke is full of sugar. Almost 9 1/2 teaspoons in one 12 oz can. But, for now, just work it into whatever plan you are doing. My Diet orange is full of Aspartame. God only knows what that is doing to my insides. I bet i'm all dyed orange inside. But until i decide to stop, well, i'll just work with it. Keep up the good work. One day, You and i will be "tea Total-ers....Only not today.

Is place to enter what your eating plan is?
I am following a eating plan that i figured out for myself. It's a Low Carb/High Fat/Moderate Protein diet. I'm not following any particular diet plan. Is there anywhere that i can enter what i want my daily amounts of Carbs, Fat and Protein to be? Or can you only enter your calories? Which i eat a moderately low calorie diet. I want to be able to share what is working for me, and also get advice on tweaks to it.
