So proud to have reached my goal of losing 20 pounds before the 1st. I feel great. I am fitting in to a lot of old clothes and people are starting to notice. Thanks to everyone on here for their support and for the ones who joined my challenge and kept me going! I'm thinking it's time to start another one after the 4th. Who is with me?

Crazy week for me. First my son was sick then I was. I didn't want to weigh in until I was holding food down. I have for a few days and am down some more still. Yahoo!

Still going down! Things are fitting better. I am feeling a bit more confident each week. Tonight my friends and I will be doing Zumba by the Canal Side in Buffalo. It's a free event every Tuesday until September, one hour and right by the water. What a peaceful way to work out. I have Zumba tapes and a game for the Wii. I kicked ass on the Wii game but I am afraid in a large group I will mess up. I was a dancer for a lot of my life, did cheer-leading and classes at my gym. I really love Zumba but it takes a lot of coordination. I hope I catch on fast! I am really excited about it!

My weight loss has slowed down dramatically but it was to be expected. My first child, Gavin Alexander was born on April 28, 2010. He passed away on Memorial Day of that year. He was revived but we had to make the heart wrenching decision to take him off of life support June 1st. At that point we were told he was a vegetable. June 3rd was his actual due date. Crazy to think my son was born and died before he was even due.This is a really hard time of year for me. Sometimes I indulge because like for so many food is a comfort thing. I am being more mindful today and every day forward. We all have our slip ups. I am learning to meditate or practice yoga during times of stress or grief instead of heading to the kitchen. It's hard to find the time being a single mom of a two and a half year old but I have been taking advantage of snack and nap time. I am not giving up no matter what this time. I know happiness doesn't revolve around weight but I am truly unhappy with the weight I am and can not wait until the day I am comfortable in my own skin again.

I am making it a point to not weigh myself everyday since that just sets myself up for failure. This time I am not giving up until I reach my full goal. The one I have on here is a mini goal. I feel mentally that helps me. It makes my goals seem more attainable.
Also I want to share this with everyone. It is a repeat from a post I put on my challenge but I think it is worth a share. :)

I was looking around the internet for weight loss stories and ways to change up my diet. On this site this woman lost 100 pounds. No gimmicks, no pills, just the good old fashioned way. I found her story to be helpful and inspirational. I hope you do too!
