Really chuffed with my weight this morning and the downward trend on my Renpho scale graph. It's still very slow weight loss, but that's what the experts usually recommend so it's all good. Since 68.1kg on Friday, the 2nd, to today is 1.4kg down in 4 weeks, which is an average of 350g a week. If I can keep that average going for the next couple of Fridays I could be at 66kg, which is where I wanted to be for my Easter holiday. I know I'll probably have a gain during that time, but hopefully tons of walking will keep it to a minimum.

I think 3 things have been helping me this week:
- IF - only eating 2 meals a day at just before noon, around 4pm and then a small snack around 9pm when I get home from work helps me stay fairly close to my 1700 calorie target. Ideally I'd have less during the week so that I raise that number over the weekend and still end up at 1700 for the daily average, but I haven't managed it this week.
- hitting over 10k steps for the last three days - walking to work and consciously walking up and down the 4 flights of stairs at work as often as I can and I'll continue to do that for the next 3 weeks.
- peppermint, green and rooibos herbal tea - is helping me to keep water intake up in this persisting cold weather.

So I think the walking is helping to burn some calories, but I think if I didn't keep my calories roughly in check that wouldn't make much of a difference anyway so overall things seem to be going ok. And this is despite not doing any strength workouts for the past couple of weeks.

Wondering if I should take my resistance bands with me on holiday and try to fit some of that in whenever there's a moment, but I don't think there'll be much downtime. My sister has a packed schedule with outings and family visits pretty much every day and I'm so ready for it!

We're doing a Meetup group walk tomorrow in our local park, which is always nice, relaxed and chatty. And they're predicting snow so we'll see about that, but I'll try to get some steps in somehow.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

My Renpho scale said 67.05kg yesterday so I'm rounding down. ;)

This week it's been easy to stick to IF, peppermint and green tea are still helping with water intake, and although I haven't had to walk to work on many days I've got an average daily steps of 7.6k so far. Doing a group walk tomorrow so will hopefully raise that a bit. Last week my average steps was over 10k so I know that helps too.

Strength workouts are still out of the window, so I'm not sure when they'll come back. I think I went through this last year as well - where winter drags on and I just can't switch my mind out of this kind of latent 'funk' that hangs around at the back of all my thoughts and seems to elevate work and life stress just that little bit so it takes over. On the surface I try to be 'normal' and cheerful and I'm still taking Vitamin D most days when I remember, but I do just wish the temperatures would start to get warmer. I am very grateful that the sun is rising earlier and setting a bit later though!

Still doing my gratitude journal - on Day 19 today. It does seem to help a bit.

I'm taking today and tomorrow off calorie counting. I would normally do it closer to the end of the month, but I'm making lasagne with garlic bread later so it will just be easier this way. I'll resume calorie counting again on Monday for the last 3 week push to my Easter holiday. If I can lose 1kg in those three week that would be grand! For me it's all about getting that daily average down to 1700 or lower and last week it was 1720. I think this week will be closer to 1900 and then if I can get as close to it again for the last 3 weeks I might just make it.

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend! xxx

So relieved that the scale is heading down again. I've been making a concerted effort to lower calories to about 1700 daily average and it must be working. Last week ended on 1820, so hopefully this week's final figures will be better.

No strength training this week yet, but I've walked to work 4 days this week (including one later today) and my average daily steps last week was 8200 and so far this week it's 9585 and we're doing a Meetup group walk as well tomorrow so that is good. Work and 'adulting' stress has gotten to me and been my excuse for not working out, but I've kept up water intake using peppermint and green tea, so there are some wins along with the fail.

I am on day 12 of doing a gratitude journal for 90 days - writing down 3 things I'm grateful for first thing in the morning. Does it matter if I do it later in the day? I'm not sure if there even are any rules so I'll do what works for me and so far it's felt really good.

Thank you to those of you who are my daily inspiration here on FS! Whether you're doing 'all the things' or just showing up for yourself in some way - it's so valuable to me when you share it and I get to join in your victories and struggles however big or small. I haven't been on as much as I like to so far this year so I haven't been around to support and comment as much, but I do appreciate the community that's here and it's great to know I can always come back and pop in when I have time.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend! xxx
