16 December 2014

So here we are at the holidays again and I must say this year is so very different from any other holiday I've ever had. I feel in control. I haven't been eating holiday sweets or treats, or over eating at all. I can't say why, but I will say it started back before Halloween. We actually threw candy away that we bought. I ate none of it. Usually I eat most of it and have to run and get extra candy during the candy doling event. I am grateful for the changes my body and mind have made while I was wishing I could. lol!

In my conscious defense I have been working out daily, doing about 2 miles (at the very least) on the GAZELLE. You know, that TONY LITTLE elliptical machine? It's fun to use and so very easy on the joints. lol! I do about 30mins a day while watching The Young & The Restless at lunch. I always start during the last 30mins of the 1-hour soap opera show, because by that time, I'm so committed to the show that I know I am going no where. So far it's been working. I burn about 300+ calories in 30 mins. every other day. Oh! I also use SWEET SWEAT. It's a stick you rub on stubborn areas to increase the fat burn capacity. I love it!

As for my diet, I have only been watching what I eat. No diets. No special foods. I simply don't choose soda, my appetite seems to have decided to not crave chocolate. Honestly, I'm amazed on that one, but I'm not craving it. I steer clear of carbs, I quit popcorn, (after getting sick at HARKINS theater a few months back) and I take it easy on the beef. Chicken digest faster. lol!

So far, I'm 176 and I've done nothing drastic.

I came here to check in and state that in 2015 i'm up'ing my game. I'm going for a weigh-in of 160 by the end of the year. You think I can do it?

You better believe I'm going for it. I see I've got my mind and my stomach on my side. lol! We're a force to be reckoned with!

Now, if I could just convince myself to eat more vegetables on a DAILY, beyond a side salad and apple sauce....
:-)

10 April 2014

Ooo La La! It's been too long since I've dropped by! I'm still on my weightloss journey, I just got buried behind my career. The last weigh-in was in July of 2013, so I'm so OVERDUE.

During my time off from FAT SECRET, I started a secret, "Eating Oreo Cookies and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups." Oh yes, it was a "SECRET, " because I kept that info and the snacks TO MYSELF. Bad decision, but it tasted so good.

In cases like this, I did the only thing I could do, that didn't involve a special diet plan -- I JOINED A GYM. I joined Fitness Works (March 2014) and have lost 12#'s just by RUN-WALKING 3 MILES a day for 3-4 days a week. Of course I've trashed ALL OF MY SNACKS - cookies, chocolate, etc, and I've replaced them with ATKINS Snacks. Not that I'm advertising for ATKINS, but this choice is better than buying Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Oreo cookies. LOL! Not advertising Reese's or Oreo's either. LOL!

I'm down 12 pounds as of April 2, (8-days ago). But I'll wait until the first week of May (2014) to get my weight for FAT SECRET, because unfortunately for me, I weigh more than 176 at this moment. Not much more, but still - more. So as not to GO BACKWARD on my progress chart. I'll just keep hammering away at the gym weekly and I'll jump the scales in 2 more weeks.

What about your weight loss journey... How's it going? What about your food choices... Have you any good recipes to share? I'd love to hear them.

STAY POSITIVE and don't ever give up. And if you fall off 'the wagon,' simply get up and get back on it. Persistence counts.

06 July 2013

I handled the 4th of July well - considering all of the hotlinks, chicken and grilled hamburgers I was around. I ended up shopping for a new outfit, for my new size instead of consuming the grilled good. I also lost 1.6 pounds in the (week) process - YAY!!!

Again, I'm finding that FOOD PORTION CONTROL is what's taking the fat off of me.

I am only as physically active as I've ever been, which is not very much at all. I do however, walk and run the dog. THAT'S NEW in my life, since I joined the "10 POUNDS in a month CHALLENGE."

I am not eating any special foods, though I am conscious to work vegetables into our daily meal plans - even if they're canned good veggies. VEGGIE's are IMPORTANT.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND to everyone!
As the fireworks pop - let the fat melt off.

Over all -- I'm down from a WOMENS size 14 to a JUNIOR MISS size 11. That's basically from an XL to a Medium, in general sizing.

I am ENCOURAGED and ENCOURAGING you to be also.
We can do it!!!!
