FROM FIT TO FAT TO FIGHTING FIT!

Once upon a time I was a size zero 115 lbs fitness cover model. In my narcissistic delusion, I thought I was fat at a size zero! I then broke both of my knees, developed diabetes, and went from a size zero to 176 lbs in a few short years. I manifested my own "THOUGHTS". Now after years of pain and struggle with my weight, beating diabetes, chronically reinjuring my knees, and a recent emergency appendix removal surgery in October 2010... With a goal of still being curvy and healthy @ 120 to 125 lbs. I am manifesting health and fitness of body, mind, and spirit. This is my journey...

UPDATE ~ 05/23/2011: After a 7 year struggle in trying to find out want went wrong with my body, I found out recently I have polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Among other more severe health issues, PCOS slows down your metabolism to a crawl. Last week I got on birth control for it to regulate my hormones and today I have a doctor appointment to get on metformin again to regulate my insulin. I'm so excited about getting my health and body back!! I am hoping with hormone and insulin therapy now my body will really morph back to healthy and lean!!! As we live our life we go thru the ups and the downs. You live and you learn your life lessons. You make a choice to give up or FIGHT! I choose to FIGHT grrrrr ;) Check in the folder and/or under the photos for informational links on PCOS to help someone you love.

PCOS is why I have been losing the battle of reaching my health goals and getting my body back, despite eating totally healthy and exercising. It makes sense since I have had ovarian cysts and surgeries on my ovaries since I was a teenager. Why it took YEARS and YEARS for a doctor to figure this out, I have no idea! It took speaking with a female doctor (Dr. Melina Jampolis - www.drmelina.com) for her to tell me, “oh you have PCOS”! This is the reason why all the working out and dieting in the world has not been working for me. This condition slows down your metabolism to a crawl. So if you or someone you know is suffering the same symptoms (see link for symptoms) please get checked out. If not treated, PCOS can lead to diabetes, heart attack, stroke, and ovarian cancer.
