Unbelievable. I'm .5 over my goal weight, and my eating seems to have changed permanently. It's been Dr. Oz + a monthlong cleanse (Kathy Freston's, which broke me of sugar/carb habits, and gave me a break from wine and coffee) + some radical advice from The Four-Hour Body. My weight loss has been slow but pretty steady. I'm setting a new goal now!

I introduced the 4 Hour Body, with its protein/fat emphasis, to try to lose 5 more lbs. Lost a half lb. almost immediately, and feeling pretty good. I'm into the idea of "experimentation" (within reason).

The Quantum Wellness Cleanse was a godsend. No animal products, gluten, sugar, alcohol or coffee for 21 days. I'd never done anything like that, and I love wine and coffee, so it was hard - but fascinating. I've reintroduced dairy and eggs, very sparingly; sugar, also sparingly; a little coffee; and wheat. Still off meat and alcohol. It's been 32 days or so.
I lost about 2 more pounds with this, when I really felt stalled. But I also have gotten much more clarity about what foods don't work for me. I was truly drinking too much - should have been obvious, but mixed with coffee and sugar and other stuff that I was using for a precarious neurological/metabolic "balance," I didn't really see it.
I still should lay off the sugar - it's what I default to. Though I will say that even things like muesli - the original, which contains sugar - seem extremely sweet to me now. And transgressive. Fruit even tastes genuinely sweet, so I'm considering that my sugar fix.
I'm very happy to have wheat back. My digestion was actually way worse without it.
Now hoping that I can continue to lose weight with YOU: On a Diet and this modified-cleanse approach.
I'm also doing PIlates, finally. Still aiming for 148.
