Today is Tuesday, March 4th, 2014. I am currently at my internship, drinking my coffee & basically wasting time this morning because my supervisor isn't around :p Starting today, for the next 2 months, I have decided to cut out certain things from my diet:
-Soda (I drink this 2-7x a wk)
-Energy drinks (On rare occasion, but when I do it's 2 at a time)
-Smoking (I smoke 1-2 cigarettes almost everyday)
-Candy/chocolate (Most days)
-Alcohol (Not often, but 4-7 drinks every other wkend)
My girlfriend is actually the one who gave me the idea to do this. She is running her first 1/2 marathon on May 4th, 2014, & today she starts her training. She is already a healthy individual & in good shape, but she decided she would give up alcohol, chocolate, & start counting her calories for these 2 months. She is also heavily cutting back on her carb intake, & she will be running 4x/wk. I'm in support of her, but I just want her to make sure she is taking in enough calories to keep her energized & healthy. Anyway, I happened to weigh myself this past wkend & to my disappointment, the number was the highest I've ever seen. I moped for a bit before deciding to take action - I, too, would be cutting out things from my diet. Initially, I was only thinking alcohol, energy drinks, & soda, the latter being the toughest. But when I spoke with my gf, she mentioned cutting out chocolate, so I figured, "hell, why not" with that one too. I also smoked the last cigarette in my pack on Sunday, just a couple days ago, so I vowed to quit smoking too. This one shouldn't be TOO difficult either, since I'm not an avid smoker to begin with.
Who knows, perhaps for anyone who reads this is thinking, "damn, this girl is so naive... this might be tougher than she thinks." Welp! I guess I am up for the challenge :)
