Hello, everyone! Hope you are well. I've seen people here at FatSecret who have a really low goal weight, which is unhealthy for them. The metric system is so easy to know how much you should weigh. If you are over 45 years old, and 157 centimeters tall, subtract 100 and you should weigh 57 kilograms. Of course if you have a lot of muscles because you work out a lot, you won't be able to use this guesstimate. Please be kind to yourself and do not set your goal weight below a normal weight for your height. Normal BMI is 18.5 - 24.9 so if you set your goal weight to match a BMI of 17, that is too low! Not only will you be depriving yourself of food which has nutrition to keep you and your brain healthy, but you will be unhappy trying to maintain that unhealthy low BMI. The BMI calculator that a lot of people use is at iifym dot com website: http://iifym.com/bmi-calculator/
A chart that shows the BMI with height and weight for men is here: http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/body-mass-index-bmi-for-adults
Does anyone know of a body mass index chart for women?
