Wow, three days to burn out on a diet, must be a new record. I guess I am not cut out for the "low carb lifestyle". I really like weight Watchers, but don't have time to record points on another website. They always say how you can plan your meals in minutes a day, but it always ends up taking me forever.

I am going to try to go it alone, by following these guidelines:

1. maximum of 1600 calories per day
2. maximum of 1 takeout or restaurant meal per week
3. macronutrient ratio of approximately: 60% carbs, 15% protein, 25% fat
4. cook from scratch for every meal with a minimum of added fats and sugars
5. no more than 100 calories per day on sweets or other junky food.

Essentially, just trying to cut out the processed junk and eat whole foods.
I am hoping I can maintain my energy levels and well-being, so I can continue to follow these principles for the rest of my life, plus or minus calories depending on my weight, of course.

I wonder how many murders are caused by lack of carbohydrates. The only thing keeping me from tearing someone's head off is complete lack of energy.

The blaze level of this diet is clearly too hard for me to do for a 6 week period, not to mention that it is interfering with my concentration at work and enjoyment of life. I am going to drop to wave and see if the extra carbs make this diet more practical for me. I also find that as a vegetarian with few pure protein sources, staying under 60 grams of carbohydrate often translates to 500-700 calories a day, which is not nearly enough for me to function.

I am trying not to feel like a failure; this level just didn't work for me. I think I can still lose weight on the wave level, but without feeling like crap all the time. If it still is too much, I might keep some of the suggestions, like the cold showers, black coffee and skipping breakfast, but get my eating plan from a more traditional weight loss program like weight watchers or Pritikin.

Here's hoping today gets better, because there is no way I can survive 6 weeks of this!
