Holy crap. I didn't know what to expect this week. I overindulged on Superbowl Sunday, and I changed up my diet this week. I did not follow Slow Carb this week, rather I followed the portion controlled container system for my current workout program, Core De Force.
I thought that eating dairy, fruit, and grains again would shock my body. And I guess it did, but where I expected to gain from it, I actually lost.
I am so happy though, because this is exactly why I changed. My body became too used to my old way. Additionally, as a little experiment, I entered a typical day in slow carb into my app and saw that I was eating over 2000 calories a day. That doesn't include times I went out for lunch or dinner. I'm starting to think that the reason I struggled so much is because I was basically living at maintenance. My workouts prevented me from our right gaining. This week my calories have hovered right around 1500. I don't have to calorie count on this new woe, but I did just to see if what I planned actually fit in my calorie bracket.
The best part is, I didn't feel deprived all week. I was getting to eat food I haven't been allowed (except on cheat day) for over 2 years. I think this plan, though more complicated to follow, may be more sustainable, in the long term.
I know every week will not be like this, but I have less than 8 lbs to my arbitrary number, and I am so excited to finally see dramatic movement, and be out of the 170s!! 😍😍
167.8 lb Lost so far: 132.2 lb.    Still to go: 7.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
