I am doing an 8/16 fasting diet. I fast for 16 hours starting at 8:00 PM. I eat nothing after this time, but I am allowed to drink water, coffee, tea, diet drinks, and maybe some very diluted fruit juice. I can't eat until 12:00 the next day. It doesn't matter when you do the 16 hours of fasting. You just do it when it works best with your schedule. My daughter, who is not a healthy eater, lost a lot of weight on this diet. My husband had cancer, and he discovered this diet when doing research on cancer prevention. It is also supposed to be beneficial to prevent heart-related problems. What I like about the diet so far is that during the 8 hours allotted for eating, I can eat two good meals and even have things I crave like cake, within limits of course. I made a vanilla cake and left off the icing. Because I never want to eat breakfast anyway, I start my 8 hour eating period at lunch, when I normally get hungry. The hardest part for me is not eating at night when I am on the computer. Today, I bought some lovely smelling bourbon-vanilla tea made by the Paromi company. I can have that during the fasting period. I do find myself going over the calorie limit here at Fatsecret. I will try to bring that under control.
151.0 lb Lost so far: 5.0 lb.    Still to go: 16.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
