Wow - I just knew I would be gaining weight during this, but I haven't! I've not been following the diet at all: roasted red pepper and tomato soup, frijoles, Chick-fil-a chicken soup... but I've been eating eggs and heavy whipping cream with garlic (scrambled together, thank you!) for breakfast.

I even ate a large Frosty from Wendy's a few evenings ago.

Okay, what happened: The toothache turned into a gum infection that made my cheek swell, too. I started eating three cloves of fresh raw garlic every meal on Tuesday evening. This morning, my cheek is a little tender when I press on it, but the swelling is mainly up around where it began, and the tooth hasn't been hurting for over a day now. I was reticent to go to the urgent care because my low-brow medical insurance doesn't really cover much of anything. I wanted to try the garlic thing, and it sure seems to be working! (But believe me, if the infection hangs on a few more days or winds up getting worse again, I'm going over there and asking for some antibiotics. Garlic is wonderful, but I don't want to risk it!)

It's funny - I stepped on the scale earlier and my brain read it as a gain. I'm going down the stairs to the living room right after that, saying to myself that that's not too bad - I expected to gain, and so I'm back up almost to where I started, so I'll just turn around and lose it again. And that at least I didn't get up higher. Then I stopped halfway down the stairs, blinked, and came back up to weigh myself again, thinking wait a minute - did I see what I thought I saw???

Now to go brush my teeth and rinse with mouthwash to try and stop smelling so much like a jar of kimchi!
232.2 lb Lost so far: 9.8 lb.    Still to go: 92.2 lb.    Diet followed poorly.
