i could not help but notice blood sugar numbers for one of the member here ... since i have been trying to live a healthier lifestyle, mine have dropped to between 75-95 ... he/she seems to be doing an outstanding job of *maintaining* their weight over a several month period, although i do NOT know if that is their intent ... or if their goal is to actually LOSE some poundage. since august 9th of last year when i could NO longer fit in chairs located in my doctor's office, restaurants, or in a movie theater, just to name a few, i decided enough is ENOUGH! since THAT very day i have lost 62 pounds (161 days ago). the single and ONLY change i made in my eating habits was to practice *portion control* ... on most days my total calories for the day do not exceed 1,000 calories ... in october my doctor cut one of my diabetes meds in HALF, stopped the blood pressure pill, as well as the ACTOS ... by my next appt. in march, i should be OFF the glipizide altogether (i was never on insulin, i am a type 2 diabetic); i still have a very long road ahead of me, however, i'm feeling great with the change i made while NOT giving up ANY of my favorite foods. i wish all of you much success in your quest for a healthier YOU in 2012 and beyond*~
255.0 lb Lost so far: 12.0 lb.    Still to go: 105.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
