Finishing my 3rd fast of the week. I'll eat at 2pm which will make it a 40 hour fast this time. Got another 5 lb weight drop in the last 3 days, which I'm sure is water that I'm shedding because of limiting carbs and fasting. But, likewise the spike in weight was mostly water gain, so fair is fair. I'm not sure that I'll continue with 3 days per week of fasting. The first two are pretty easy, but this one was tough. I wasn't hungry, but I was felt terribly cold and I slept poorly. Since this is the first time I've tried to do 3 days in one week, I may try it again to see if the results are the same. I may have to do mostly 5:2 fasting with occasional 4:3. Time will tell. I got a 4 mile walk in with the dogs and mowed a couple of acres of the lawn with a walk behind power mower. Now the rest of the day will be preparing for my upcoming trip. I've got to plan menus for the camp for 14 days and make a shopping list up. Also need to generate a list of gear and supplies to pack. I've got 7 days to get ready and I hope to pre-cook and freeze some of the entrees, like the elk chili, and elk meatballs. My wife has been in Austin watching my granddaughter and helping my daughter who got her tonsils out last week. At 33, its a pretty painful experience. My wife just texted me to tell me that she has an infection in her throat now and went to the UrgentCare facility and got some strong antibiotics. So, she'll be coming home today with my granddaughter. So I'll get to spend some time with her later. Anyway, I hope y'all have a wonder Sunday and a great week to come.

Be cautious when you start feeling cold. According to Dr. Fung, one of the first things that indicates metabolic shut-down is that thermogenesis, your internal heater, shuts down. Good drop, though!

Thanks for all the kind thoughts. Mskestrela, I was thinking the same thing. I just finished another 40 hour fast a couple of minutes ago and this time I didn't have any chills and though I didn't sleep as well as I would have liked, I did get a decent night's sleep this time. Hopefully, my body is adjusting to this new eating schedule. If not, I'll just change things up and move on.
