Hi there,
I haven't been on here too much. Been working a lot, watching hockey, and out of town.

I am trying to get under 320.

Do you ever feel like you have a chicken and the egg situation going on? I need to lose weight so my knees don't hurt, so I exercise, which makes my knees hurt. OKKK.

So I have found some beginner yoga for obese and also chair exercises, etc. on Youtube. I can play Youtube on my TV so I figure as long as I get my heart rate up that I am exercising my heart, boosting my metabolism, and burning calories.

I guess there is more than one way to skin a cat!

Go PENNS!

Have that chicken with the skin on and that egg any way you want it :) Know what you mean though, I am focused on my diet first and foremost and as that takes weight off the hips and back, my activity goes up much more comfortably. Yet it all seems to take forever :/ How are you liking the Primal food plan??

Don't exercise....just focus on your Diet. Once you've dropped weight, then work on some light cardio and weight training. Exercising to lose weight when starting out is a troublesome road.

Trust me, I know knee pain (torn meniscus) and been 332. Have a long way to go, but getting to 255 feels so much better. I will say when I do certain exercise it's brutal on knees. Lately I started using a recumbent bike, and WOW NO KNEE PAIN...I will keep using for a while.

I think what you are attempting is great. But I also agree with Mahjohn that diet comes first. I walk when my knee permits. 🏒 🐧

I have the same knee issues and had reconstructive surgery and it's never been the same. Find stuff to keep the impact and weight off your knees - rowing machines, stationary bike, recumbent bike, pool exercises all take the majority of the weight off your knees. Drinking a ton of water also help ease my knee pain.

Thanks for all of the great comments. I will definitely spend more time on here and encourage everyone else too! I have had a lot of trouble with binge eating and I have found counseling and meds a necessary addition for now. We aren't all blessed with healthy brain connections, unfortunately. I have fought for every pound lost so far!
