Thanks everyone! I just got back my blood tests (taken about 2.3 weeks into the diet)and I can see I need to still cut carbs on the "off" day, as my blood sugar is still prediabetic. Triglycerides were good (not always the case) and cholesterol still high but hasn't worsened over 14 years. I am going to switch back to low carb now, but maybe cycle calories, with some days lower than others. Also IF, trying to get to 15:9. I hope I don't experience any bump-up from the switch; I don't expect to.

Trackin, Take this as gospel coming from me man. If you really want your cholesterol to come down, fix what's causing it to rise. And it isn't your food. Cholesterol in your blood means you have vascular damage. The cholesterol has been released into your blood by your liver to PATCH the damage in your vascular system. What you need to do to repair the ACTUAL damage and not just patch it, is Get a LOT of vitamin C. And I do NOT mean Ascorbic acid. I mean REAL vitamin C. Its worth the measly couple carbs to drink 2 lemons worth of juice in NON sweetened water. (Stevia is ok) 1 whole lemons worth of juice is 52% of your DV for Vitamin C. Same with Limes. I repeat though. DO NOT use Ascorbic Acid. It is NOT vitamin C. I Personally use 2 lemons and 1 table spoon of Apple Cider Vinegar. It helps keeps your lungs phlegm free also. But that elixir I just told you to drink can actually UNDO heart disease.

Thanks Knuckles, I'll give it a shot - love lemon water anyway, and also ACV.

I just posted a new forum post. Go have a watch. Its simple but VERY explanatory. And you can use Stevia in it to make lemon aid. (Now you know where the term lemon aid came from) Its Medicine. :)
