Off to a strange weekend. Son's BD was yesterday and last night he went to a concert with his girlfriend and a good friend of his. Made too quick of a turn to go into a driveway and slammed into the curb with his tire and got a flat. Called me around 1:00 - 1:30am as he didn't know how to change a tire and neither did the other two. For whatever reason, hubby still up, semi watching a movie between nodding off, so he went out to rescue them (and hopefully TAUGHT them all how to change a tire). So that put a damper on his day and he'd already seemed a bit stressed out for whatever reason. Oh well, today he is having a sort of dinner party for 8 and then a gathering later of a group of his friends. That should make up for it and his girlfriend is quite a cook.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (still unable to make paragraphs without it crashing the page) Then for whatever reason, I lay awake for hours - probably didn't fall asleep until after 4:00am and awoke before 9:30. Mind was all over the place and I'd been sort of upset... no, maybe frustrated most of the day yesterday. The doctor's office called and said the culture they'd had taken came back clean - no infection. And I was like... uh... HOW could that be? Positive for both leukocytes and blood in your office, all the symptoms of a UTI and then a negative culture? She said she wasn't sure, but that's what the results said. Okay... NOT happy with this. I'm on heavy duty antibiotics and don't want to be if no infection is present. On the other hand, I do not want to stop the antibiotics in the event the culture is wrong (which I HIGHLY suspect it is... 99% sure of that one)and go into a surgical procedure, no matter how minor, with an active infection.. or simply help create a super bug by stopping antibiotics and having them come back stronger. So I end up, after three or four separate calls and waiting for answers via the staff, finding out this lab is the same lab that I believe gave me a false negative the last time something was sent there. I'd been bitten by a dog, developed a fever, lots of swelling around the bite marks, and the doc eventually expresses a glob of junk from the wound. Uh.... can you say INFECTION? And yet, the culture came back negative - no infection... which we all knew was bull. So I asked them if I have any future testing there, if the samples can be sent elsewhere. I do not trust this lab at all anymore as I'm fairly confident they've screwed up two of the last two cultures I've had done there. After several conversations, I've decided to finish out the antibiotics. I really hate going to doctors... it seems I rarely feel I've been taken care of adequately. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anyway.... that was yesterday and today is a brand new day and it would appear, that for the time being anyway, my weight is on a downward swing. I just hope I can continue that and figure out a way to keep it at around the 125. Plus I'm .4 lbs away from seeing that elusive blue line again! Hope all are having a great weekend.

Thanks, Bren (birthday is tomorrow)! Yeah, I'm definitely not trusting that lab at all. Thanks for the encouragement, too. Really I just need to figure out how to maintain within a smaller weight range. I must eat more calories than I'm accounting for, or I'm burning less than my Bodybugg says I am. Either way, it's all a learning process, isn't it? Thanks again!
