GLAMMER's Journal, 12 July 2015

GGGRRRRRRR! I've been drinking liquid breakfasts every stinkin day, & trying hard to eat right & not cheat, & I gained 1 pound! Go figure! I did my pool therapy at the Y on TUE & THURS too, & my muscles have been quite sore from that, which is largely why I'm so frustrated about the gain. But, I'm not giving up, NO MATTER WHAT!!! Had the monthly shopping trip with DD yesterday. Had lunch at the Vine, Italian restaurant & ordered shrimp with capellini, a very thin spaghetti-like pasta & a lovely tossed green salad. It was delicious, & not too filling. But the bread that came with it was so delicious that I had 3 slices, & I think that was my downfall. It's not that big of a deal, & I guess I shouldn't be frustrated at only 1 lb gain, but I am. I really need to "buckle down" in the next couple of weeks, cuz both my & Hubby's birthdays are coming up. Next SAT we're driving to the coast (about 70 miles away) for our own private annual b-day celebration at the Porthole restaurant in Gold Beach, OR. The owner-manager Tony is so nice, & he knows we come a long way to eat there every year (or more) for a scrumptious fresh seafood dinner. He makes sure we get a nice dockside window seat, & usually free dessert. Jerry's Jet Boat Tours is right next door, so there's always a lot to see. It's a great photo op too, with spectacular views of the beautiful Pacific Ocean & the mouth of the Columbia River. The next SAT is our family b-day party with our DD's & SIL, where of course we'll have cake & ice cream. Knowing this will help me to try very hard to be good the rest of the days, so hopefully at least I won't gain any more weight. That will make me very happy, & if I lose a bit I'll be ecstatic. ~ NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER SURRENDER! ~ With Really Skinny, Healthy, & Well-Behaved (((Hugs))), GLAMMER

Don't give up it takes time and patients and life does have a way of happening. That is the big problem when we "diet" we all want to eat the bread because it is so good and we should be able to do that. Unfortunately as we get older our metabolisms slow down and that bread no longer can be eaten as freely as we used to. Do a little extra walking or something and that will usually help. My problem is I just do not always feel like walking. Most of the time I just want to sit.
