I have to say, it all comes down to the cherries.
A few weeks ago, I decided it's really time I moved on to OWL. I already have almonds (and have recently started seeds) and it was time for berries. Unfortunately, we just don't get berries where I live. I did find some imported stuff but they were exorbitantly priced and I just couldn't justify it. (Same story with almond meal - really limits my food options). Anyway, the only thing I could afford were a couple of boxes of cherries. Had to throw half a box away because they turned out to have fungus but I spent a good 2-3 weeks this month, having exactly 5 cherries a day. They weren't even big juicy cherries - they were small and a little sour - but I was glad of the one new addition to my monotonous meals. 5 small cherries didn't seem like much...but for the first time ever, my weight was ALL OVER THE PLACE. I weigh once every morning, at the same time everyday. While I've seen minor fluctuations before, this was up and down 2-3 kgs (5-6 lbs) from one day to the next. As always, I just ignored it. I knew I was doing nothing out of the ordinary and I just couldn't imagine that those 5 cherries could be the cause of all this...that is until this last week when I ran out of them and suddenly, my numbers are less erratic. It had to be the cherries!

Haha, sorry about the long rant, it was just the silliest realisation. On a more serious note though, this doesn't bode well for me trying to move to OWL and reintroduce more variety to my meals. Any tips on this, please?
I suppose I can skip the berries and start trying dairy. I'd love to start having cottage cheese more regularly, it's one of my favourites but I'd hate to see a similar reaction.

And finally, I am so grateful for the sudden dip right at the end of this month. I won't get too excited about it...but it was unexpected and I'm grateful. It's taking much much longer than I had anticipated to get to my initial goal and I know I need to lower my goal even more eventually. I just try to avoid thinking of the larger picture and get through one day at a time. I'm grateful for ANY progress at all and 15.8 kgs (34.8 lbs) is a LOT.

That is more than a lot, that's huge! Well done. One day at a time is the way. Berries are best choice for fruit but still sugar heavy which cold cause the ups and downs as your glucose levels went wobbly. I avoid dairy.

I had cherries a couple weeks ago - they have a ton OF CARBS - blackberries, blueberries are better - could you find fresh frozen berries without sugar?

Thank you both. Yes, I'll have to try and look for blackberries and blueberries somehow.
