First, thank you to all who have supported my wgt chart. I have been so sick for so long that forums and emails have a pretty low priority just now. That explains why you aren't getting individual thanks.

Now, as for the recent gains. We all know our weight fluctuates a few pounds. Mine fluctuates by 5 or 7 pounds. However, for whatever reason, I've been SO HUNGRY lately. I just can't seem to get enough to eat. I'm not eating foods that are bad for me (for the most part) but the quantity is way too much. I can tell myself I can't be hungry, I just ate, etc, but to no avail. I'm 63 years old and have been on almost every diet that has come out. I refuse to stay hungry any more.

My health conditions don't make the process any easier. I have been diagnosed with congenital heart failure, heart valve dysfunction, diabetes, lots of arthritis, stenosis of the spine, acid reflux due to stomach erosions, asthma, COPD, and restless legs syndrome. There are a few more symptoms I can't remember. I've had pulmonary embolisms, DVTs, sepsis, respitory failure and many UTIs that I can't get rid of. I have been on a high maintenance does of prednisone (15 to 30 mg daily) for well over a year. That, of course, messes with your hormones, etc. When I had that big wgt loss recently, it was because I suddenly developed Shoegren's Syndrome and couldn't anything for over 45 days. Ensure kept me alive. I moved to Kansas last June and got into a GREAT rehab program. The night I arrived I couldn't even walk. I had been bedfast so long that my legs were like jelly. 45 days later I was in my own apt.

I still have lots of help, homemakers, bath aides. I use my Hoveround a lot, but can walk with a walker as long as I have my 02.

I'm probably going to require heart valve surgery fairly soon, but of course the cardiologist wants me to lose more wgt. The harder I try, the more I gain. I'm really working hard not to gain any more. One silver lining in the cloud of Shoegren's, I can't taste most of my binge foods: ice cream, pastries and cakes. Since I can't taste them, I don't get the pleasure I used to experience when I would eat them. That's helping.

Again, thank you all for your support and please don't be offended if I don't respond (I'll probably be sick).
