I totally agree with you about office jobs. Sucks that most companies don't have a built in gym because I'd be using it everyday. I usually sit at my desk for close to 40 hours a week doing office work and the only time I get exercise is usually on my breaks. You look great btw I read your blog and I'm trying to lose weight myself. I could definitely use a good support group.

Hey David, Yeah, it is seriously an uphill battle to get in shape and maintain it while working a desk job. Not to mention just overall health - not even specifically being "in shape". One thing, it is possible to do a desk workout if you have an office setup where it wouldn't bother people. I spend about 15 minutes every morning doing a desk workout (see my latest journal entry for what I do), then I take a short walk every night with ankle weights on while tightening my stomach muscles the whole time. (Go on amazon and order ankle weights, start with a low weight like 2 lbs and build up to 6 or so. I got ten lb weights that have removable 2 lb increments and am currently using 4 lbs of weight and boy I can feel it.) Get up a couple times during the day and stretch too, stretching is super important to keep your circulation going. Also, you can do things like muscle isolation's at your desk while working. Focus on a muscle group, like your stomach, or thighs, or whatever, and contract the muscles for 20 seconds, release, relax, repeat until you feel too tired to keep doing it. It takes some creativity to find a way to stay active, but you can do it. Also, welcome to fat secret! My photo is a little old, I have sadly gained back a little of the weight since my "after" photo (about 15 lbs), but honestly, the results I achieved there came from using fat secret and exercising a moderate amount. I never did a weight loss plan like WW or Jenny Craig, I never set foot in a gym, I didn't do meal replacements of any sort. I just logged EVERYTHING I consumed, and every physical activity I did and made a conscious effort to be more active. Good luck on your weight loss journey! ~Jaimie

@gaakinsgirl Desk jobs are so bad for the human body! Your heart, blood flow, muscles, storing fat, posture, joint health... everything! Hopefully you've found a way to start adding activity into your daily routine. :)
