cocobutt's Journal, 28 July 2023

A whole week got by me without logging in my foods or going to the gym. Have had to do more caregiving due to sis not being available and one lady quit. I need to do better with recording things on my phone app, but I'm all thumbs so it's easier on my desktop mac.

One thing I've noticed is that when I skip meals or eat less in general, I feel more energetic. When I eat too much or eat candy, I get sluggish. That's a no brainer.

Not sure how I dropped any weight over the past 7 days.

I did reach for a safe snack (plain icelandic yogurt without extra sugar + high-protein low-sugar granola) for lunch today instead of going out for drive-thru food. There is no candy in my house right now too, so that's a win.

Worried about my partner right now. He's struggling with not wanting to retire even though he should. Plus painkillers have wrecked him. Finding a counselor/therapist to help him is impossible. No one is taking new patients these days.

Congratulations on your smart nutrition eating and weight loss! fyi.... Regarding access to therapy for your husband, telehealth is growing and may be worth considering. Without such tight geographic limitations, it's easier to find a choice of professionals with availability. Sessions can be over the phone or video (such as Zoom). As long as the patient has a completely private, uninterruptable & out of earshot, safe, and comfortable place to talk, this format can actually result in people feeling safer & more relaxed about really opening up sooner than in in-person sessions. Of course, it varies by person.
