Still maintaining, and eating without tracking is working so far. I think tracking over the past year really taught me a lot about food and nutrition, and it changed my relationship to food. Through the caffeine withdrawal, so feeling more human. Finally got back to the gym yesterday to do some brisk walking and really slow jogging on the treadmill. Shoulder still isn't right, but I see the physical therapist tomorrow to discuss next steps. Life is good. 😊 Happy Sunday, everyone!

Why are you giving up caffeine? I used to get rapid heart beats and they stopped when I gave up coffee the first time. But I'm back to enjoying a morning cup or two

That’s not maintaining— that’s slaying!👍. Great job with portion control when you couldn’t get the desired exercise in. Intuitive eating is all the rage now, and with the right food in the fridge, it can be done, as you are proving 👏🏼.

I hope they have a good plan for your arm.

We'll find out what the plan is tomorrow, Morticia, even if it's just "suck it up, buttercup " for the next few months 😉 JB - thanks! 😃 I think this year I've retrained myself on how to eat. Onward to improving the fitness level-- hoping to go snowshoeing today with the pair a friend loaned me. Fritzy -- trying to give it up because I have no ability to moderate and have been drinking abusive levels that are doing me no good on the anxiety front

Now I remember you had mentioned anxiety before. I can see where too much caffeine could cause problems

Glad life is good for you! Hopefully you will get some relief on your shoulder 💜💜

Hope so, too, Diana. Thanks! I'm actually ok with dealing with it hurting for a while, as long as I'm not doing additional damage. I went up snowshoeing today, and it was fun, but I would totally put up with more pain to get some ski days in. There is so much snow up there!!!

I had/have shoulder issues too, (tore it after a bad rollerblading wipeout at 30mph) and the pain that has been in my traps and radiating up my neck was unreal. Stress/anxiety made it worse. Good luck with your plan, I did a lot of PT and it was the impotus for me to start rowing/kayaking. What finally 'fixed it' was a random meet up with an acupuncturist when in China after 20 years of pain. I thought 'what the heck' and completely was just humoring the guy. And it worked, the first time! I didn't even need follow up sessions. Not making any medical recommendations, just telling you my experience. I 'so' didn't believe in accupuncture. I haven't been back since, but would consider if needed. I also drank abusive levels of coffee at one point and giving it up was hell, def. stick with that if you've made it through the withdrawals. I found decaf worked for me because I missed the taste and the warm feeling of a nice mug in my hand. But you do you, good luck!!!!

it's Monday I'm late to the game, but thinking of you!

Wow, jujugirl! 30 MPH on roller blades??? I'm a slow cyclist and was only going probably 10-12 when I hit. I'm glad the acupuncture worked for you. Something I might consider if this doesn't resolve. I have a coworker who goes to one -- or at least I know she used to, so I might ask her about it. She used it to cope with cancer treatment side effects

Thank you, JC! 😃 The good news from my physical therapist is I'm not going to do any damage using it, but I should back off if I get above a 3 on the 0-10 pain scale. So I can ski! Won't go too hard or take the more challenging trails. Today we're going up, but I'm debating whether to try skiing or to stick with snowshoeing. Shoulder and arm are a bit achy this morning. Had to laugh at myself -- went out on snowshoes for the first time, and didn't realize there was a right and a left. Went 4 miles with them on the wrong feet 🤣

Hope you get to ski today or this weekend! I also have to support the acupuncture. I’ve used it for both plantar fasciitis and tennis elbow with astounding immediate relief.

I'll think about the acupuncture, JB. Just got back from a 7 mile ski on a beautiful day with perfect snow. Shoulder held up well enough. Life is good 😊
